I am reinstalling the stock Alpine AMP setup in the trunk of my 93´ Diablo. The previus owner removed the amp, and I have just had a blind plate for years now. I have sourced the correct parts the reinstall the correct Alpine amp setup in the trunk, but need some detail pictures of the correct setup and install. I belive all US cars had the large Alpine stereo option, with the 3552 amp and sub behind the seat. This was an option in Europe, and my car have that option. Can anybody share some details pictures of the install and connections behind the cover plate and trunk wall panel?

In the, I figured out that the original sound system could consist of: • Alpine 7516L radio • Alpine 3540 amplifier I've also seen pictures, where it seems that there is an Alpine 3540 in the trunk AND this amplifier fits to the connectors, which were left in my trunk. I live in Germany and my Diablo is the European version. Maybe this makes the difference. Does someone know why there are different types of amplifieres and can tell with which radio the 91` (European) Diablo originally was equipped with? Eu Radio and US Radio is not the same ranges - Eu is 88-108 Mhz FM - I think US is slightly different range - hence why there are still differing US and Eu model variants in the Alpine range - e.g. Current ILX700 in Eu is ILX007 in US! Im not sure about this particular radio but in the 80s and 90s many synthesized tuners could be modified to change its default frequency raster.

Sometimes a solder jumper or resistor was omitted or added in the EU or the US version in order to simplify production. Just check it out. Or try to get a circuit diagram. Hi Schoppe, According to my parts book, Standard Alpine System: 3540 Amp 7390M Radio, pre June 92 7516L Radio, post June 92 No sub behind the seat. The large Alpine system was an option that you could order, and gave: 3552 Amp Sub behind left seat.

(LHD and RHD) 6 disc CD box I think all US cars had the large Alpine option by default, owners please confirm? I know that is was an option in the UK as I have the original spec/price list. Last week I went to look at local Diablo for sale for another forum member, and that car also happen to be an original German supplied car. That car had the standard 3540 setup. I have added a picture for you to use as reference. The amp cover plate is different for the 3540 and 3552 amp, as it is larger in size, and also the trunk light on 3540 is on top and 3552 has it on the side of the amp.
