Sorry new user with an EM73, purchased on ###### as 'New 7 Inch Android 2.3 A8 Tablet HDMI Capacitive Screen'. I had a new micro SD card but when i installed it, it didn't sit correctly and now appears stuck in the tablet. I've read a few other sites and found this has happened to others so i think what i need to do is remove the back case that will enable me to get at the SD card so i can try and put it in properly. I noticed in this discussion you have to remove the back cover ---- B.

Very small/fine flat head screwdriver and if possible plastic tool (both tools found on the net where they sell nintendo ds or wii hack mod tools) K here goes.take your time!!!!! Take off back cover with tools mentioned above ---- Can i ask before i attempt, is there a good place to start (i.e. The other end to where all the HDMI/SD/POWER bits are or on the long side where the home/menu key is? I don't want to be over forceful and end up breaking the case. I've seen other tablets where you have to take the front screen off to get to the screws to undo, i take it this tablet isn't like that and there are some little clips that you need to use the above tool to get the back over.

I am sorry to bother anyone but, apparently I may have bricked my coby kyros MID7015. I have followed the unbricking method to the best of my ability. I am not sure if I am touching the right points but, if there is anyway that somebody can please send me some pics of it being highlighted where to touch or to tell me what I am doing wrong then it would be greatly appreciated. I am worried that I may have left myself with nothing but, a useless item from which I did like at one point of time.

Thankyou and I will await your responses. Sorry new user with an EM73, purchased on ###### as 'New 7 Inch Android 2.3 A8 Tablet HDMI Capacitive Screen'.

In response to my own question, i managed to get the back off, i purchased an iPhone tool kit off e-bay (couple of quid) and slowly worked my way around the back. I started on the long side without any buttons(but the way the back is on it doesn't really matter which side you start on as the back has cut out groves for all the buttons connections). I just took it nice and slow and levered up the one side bit by bit then moved around to the smaller side of the tablet, in short there isn't any glue and you put something very thin between the back and the outside rim and then lever the back up, it is held on by very small clips and none of these broke off. After a bit i then pulled it up with my hands and it came off nicely. Problem is i couldn't get the SD card out as it has gone behind the circuit board and gives it a nice little rattle now! Haven't really got the know-how on getting under that and the rattle isn't a problem unless I'm shaking the unit.

Something good to know to those who cannot get it to recognize the NAND. The box may be greyed out and the unit will not powerup(blank screen). I was having the same problem. To solve this I changed the usb cable and it fixed everything. Now I have GSOB 2.3.1 on coby kyros mid7015.

Apparently it was not bricked as I originally thought and tearing it apart was a complete waste of time. I wrongly loaded the v2.3.3 lk.rom on top of a functioning v2.1 installation without the other files (as one does when reverting to v2.1) and entered the 'no power-on' condition. No combination of reset, toggle switch and/or silver button forces any kind of boot. Os x tiger iso download.
